Exploring the Greek Islands with Selectum Blu Cruises

Embarking on a journey through the stunning Greek islands with Selectum Blu Cruises is an experience that combines adventure with relaxation, perfect for families. We had so much fun with our lovely children Masal Ada and Mert Alaz.

The welcoming performance featuring seagirls and Captain Sparrow was a highlight for my two-year-old daughter and nine-month-old son, bringing smiles and laughter to the entire family. It was an unprecedented experience for us as a family, which we cherished with laughter and lots of yummy food. Here is what we have in our memory box when returning home.

Çeşme

Our stop in Çeşme was a delightful addition, blending Turkish hospitality with beautiful coastal views. The local markets were vibrant, and the seaside eateries offered delicious cuisine that made for a perfect afternoon. While beginning our journey in Çeşme, we prefer to stay and enjoy this gorgeous city for a few days.

Rhodes: A Cultural Gem

The island of the knights, Rhodes, is one of the most magnificent islands of Greece and the largest of the twelve archipelagos. Rhodes, with its historical architecture and vibrant atmosphere, captivated us. Exploring the island’s rich history felt like stepping back in time, enhancing our overall experience.

On one side is the Süleymaniye Mosque, on the other the Greek Archaeological Museum. On the other side is the Street of the Knights, on the other side are the Greek Taverns, and suddenly you see that there is history everywhere.

Kos: A Culinary Delight

Kos greeted us with mouthwatering World cuisine onboard. Each meal was a celebration of flavors, making every dining experience a memorable one. The crew was welcoming, ensuring that we felt right at home. We have stepped foot on the island with tender boats. It was a tranquil island allowing for some relaxing time and inspiring time at sea with the little ones.

Leros: Family Fun

Leros was a treasure trove of natural beauty and charm. Leros, one of the lesser-known gems of the Dodecanese, captured our hearts with its unspoiled landscapes and charming villages. The island is a perfect blend of serenity and adventure, making it an ideal stop for families.

As we wandered through the quaint streets of Agia Marina, we were captivated by the traditional whitewashed buildings adorned with colorful flowers. The local shops offered delightful souvenirs and handmade crafts that reflected the island's rich culture. We visited Leros at night, missing the windmills and the sunset. Still we had so much fun with friends, enjoying the cool breeze of the Aegean.

Samos: Nature's Haven

Samos offered pristine landscapes, showcasing Greece’s untouched nature. The island's clean streets and stunning architecture were delightful, providing a picturesque backdrop for our adventures.

This island is renowned for its natural beauty, featuring rolling hills and vibrant vineyards that create a stunning backdrop. As we explored, we discovered charming villages like Pythagoreio, named after the famous mathematician, where cobblestone streets are lined with quaint cafes and shops.

The island's beaches, such as Psili Ammos, provided the perfect spot for family fun. The shallow, clear waters were ideal for the kids to play, while we enjoyed the sun and the stunning views. Samos is also famous for its sweet wine, and yet we had the pleasure of tasting some uzo, enhancing our culinary experience.

For history enthusiasts, Samos boasts several archaeological sites, including the ancient Heraion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through these ruins felt like stepping back in time, offering a glimpse into the island's storied past.

Onboard Experience

While the ship offered a relaxed vibe with limited activities, the sirtaki class added a fun twist to our journey. Ice cream was always at hand, much to my daughter Masal’s delight, making our cruise feel even more like a vacation. Night shows and live concerts, followed by vivid parties attracted energetic souls while we prefer to reserve to our room and have some family time with kids.
